When former Miss India Sarah Jane Dias is not busy facing the camera she sells cupcakes. Sarah is the joint-owner of a cupcake shop named Butterfly.
Laughs the pretty debutant, "The cupcakes became a little more famous after Karan Johar had them with Deeepika and Sonam on his show. The cupcake shop is the brainchild of my friend and partner Shaana Gwyne. We both love cupcakes. "
Hopefully Sarah would be as successful as an actress as she has been selling cupcakes, walking the ramp and winning beauty pageants. The former Miss India World makes her debut with Abhishek Bachchan in Game next week.
As she is no novice to the arclights she is not nervous.
She admits the modeling route into movies is a bit of cliché. But here's the thing that makes her debut unique. In Game she shares screen space with no other actor except Abhishek Bachchan. She forms a part of his character's romantic flashback.
A bit hesitant to give away details of her Hindi debut Sarah says, "I'm not too sure if I can talk about my role. But yes, I only worked with Abhishek and it was great fun. It's very important to get the correct co-star at the start of your career.
Or else you became scarred for the rest of your career. Abhishek is known to be a prankster. But there's a lot more to him than that. He is so knowledgable about so many things other than movies. When we were shooting in Istanbul he told me so much about the history of the film. "
Sarah says their love-making sequence in Game is hugely overrated. "There's nothing to it. Just a fleeting moment showing the natural progression in the couple's relationship, that's all.
Actually when I read the script I was scared. It said 'love-making scene' at one point. I wondered what that meant. My director Abhinay Deo put my mind to rest. When you're working with producers like Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani you've nothing to worry about. "
Sarah lives alone in Mumbai. Her parents stay in Muscat and her sister is in Florida. She wants to watch her debut film with her family.
"Since there is no big premiere in Mumbai I'll probably fly down to Muscat to see the film with my parents and the rest of the family. "
About her life in Mumbai Sarah says it's lonely to be single girl in the city. "When I'm not working I'm on the internet or surfing on television. But I do miss my family in Mumbai. I guess now that my career has started in films I will see even less of them in Muscat. They'll have to visit me in Mumbai more often. "
And then there's always the cupcake business. The single retail store is expected to go into expansion soon.
